About Us

The Harper Billiard League (HBL) of Central Florida is a fully independent pool league designed for amateur players of all skill levels. This league has no affiliation with any other league or sanctioning body. It is designed to provide a fun, competitive pool experience for it's players with the top teams earning cash payouts at the end of the session. We offer different league formats on several different nights.

Please check out our flyers at several pool halls in Central Florida for the formats available at that location. Contact information will be on the flyer, or go to our Facebook page for more information about our available divisions and how to contact us.

Fees

Players in the HBL do not have to pay an annual membership fee. The only fee you will be required to pay is a match fee when playing in the regular season (teams do not pay for playoff appearances). It is possible that the venue may require you to pay greens fees to use their tables during the season. FYI: HBL reps can accept credit card payments for your match fee, or you can even pay online through our store using PayPal or credit card.

Payouts and Prizes

The HBL focuses on offering a 65% total payout for the session winners. Payout breakdowns will be posted on the division's web page. Because the league is designed for money payouts, trophies and patches are not awarded.

Online Processing

All of the HBL scorekeeping is done online, providing instant access to division scores and statistics when the paperless scoresheets are complete and submitted. Players will no longer have to wait for paper scoresheets to be submitted to an office, placed on a pile, and manually processed by a league representative days later during work hours.

Statistics

The HBL maintains detailed statistics on all the games played in the league. Every player that has signed-on to the web site will have access to the most recent stats in the divisions that the player belongs to. Because the HBL is mostly interested in game wins/losses, additional information that drags out scorekeeping is not utilized, such as innings, ball count, etc.

Formats Available

The HBL offers several game formats, for team and singles divisions. If you're interested in a format that is not currently available, please contact us and we'll discuss the probability of offering the format in the future.

8-Ball

The 8-ball team divisions are handicapped divisions that utilize a team skill cap. A skill level race chart determines the game race between players. Match points are awarded after a player wins his/her race. Bonus points are awarded for certain performances in the match. The player's total points are calculated as the match points plus the bonus points. We currently offer an 8-ball division at Trick Shots Winter Park on Saturdays @ 2:00pm.

9-Ball

The 9-ball team divisions are handicapped divisions that utilize a team skill cap. A skill level race chart determines the game race between players. Match points are awarded after a player wins his/her race. Bonus points are awarded for certain performances in the match. The player's total points are calculated as the match points plus the bonus points. We currently offer a 9-ball division at Clicks North Cassleberry on Thursdays @ 7:30pm.

Power Division

Power division is a format where each player match is typically a race to 7 (some divisions are a race to 8). The standard format includes up to eight 9-ball and five 8-ball games. Bonus points are not awarded in a power division, but each won game counts as a point towards your team points. We offer power divisions on Monday nights at Trick Shots Winter Park, and Wednesday nights at Racks Billiards.
